Need advise please 32 bit to 64bit upgrade

Thread needs solution

I need to do a clean instalation of windows 7 64 bit. To this point, everything backed up is 32 bit. I need to know what would be the best way to recover all my files & settings with minimal re-instalation of the programs. Thanks.

Even if you did a fresh, clean installation of Windows 32 bit you still can't put the programs from the backup into it without installing them and I'd guess that 64 bit is probably an additional complication. Your files can just be copied over if necessary.

You will need to reinstall all your applications. You can move any user content files (ie in the c:\users directory or in any directory you have created yourself).
