A configuration required
I set Acronis to backup my computer, it's going to take quite a while... Some hours, and I have better things to do with my life than sit and watch the stupid machine whirr away for hours.
Toddle off to get on with other things, return a while later only to find the backup has paused because Acronis has found some trivial file it thinks is corrupted or some other such excuse.
I tell it to ignore, and sit there for five minutes just to make sure it'll keep going.
Toddle off again to get on with work, return an hour later to find only a few more percent has been added to the counter before it paused again with another excuse.
This happened four times in the recent backup session and I am very annoyed by it.
I really don't care if a file is corrupted, covered in dog poo or whatever... I just want Acronis to start a backup and proceed through it to the end.
So to my question:
Is there a Config option somewhere in Acronis that I can set to force it to ignore every trivial moan and get on with its job without stopping?
Thanks

Not ATM, unless I attempt another backup and I don't have time for that.
I do remember in all cases, it was simply, that as it progressed it had encountered what it considered to be a corrupt file and paused the process waiting for me to say Yay or Nay.
I have no idea if it produces a Log file, if it does, I guess it might be in there, but I wouldn't know where to look for it.
I think I do remember the directory location on my HD of one of the files, so when I get some spare time (Hollow laughter) I'll see if I can just back that dir...

Hi
i would be more concerned in finding out what the problem is with the file, if its corrputed then there is no point in backing it up!
Its a bit like backing up your whole system and then ignoring the fact that it didnt pass the validation stage.
good luck, hope you sort it

Inserted below the four Log entries with the error notices.
Well they were inserted, but vanished when previewing or Saving, so I've attached as a text file.
I know the last entry has a file that reports corrupted, it's been on the machine for years, and doesn't infact cause any problems.
However, it still misses the point.
Specifically, I want the process to start, proceed to the end without me having to sit and watch the (Naughty word) thing just in case it throws an error(s) and waits.
Couple of additional points. I don't backup the whole system and I don't validate. (My choice thank you).
Regardless... I want a configuration that enables the app to go from Start to finish without stopping.
Is there one?
Thanks

Ax it appears that 3 of the files have to do with System Restore--do you use it? If not, or if your system is otherwise working perfectly atm I would reset the System Restore monitoring so these files are gone. Or at least get rid of all SR points but the last and see if the problem stuff goes away. And the 4th file seems to be some Adobe leftover that you also can get rid of.
I'm assuming of course that you've done a chkdsk first to make certain there are no problems with the filesystem.

Yes, run chkdsk with the /R option. tomf is right: you could delete your restore points and the adobe file.

Yes folks I'm aware of all that, thanks.
Still missing the point of my posting though...
A configuration/setting that makes the App go through the backing process without stopping to wait for my input for anything.
Sorry in this instance, the rest is irrelevant, I don't care if there are corrupted files, I don't care if the Sun ain't gonna shine anymore...
I want the app to start, process, finish without a single stop for a moan.
I can always look at the Log file later.
There obviously isn't a config/setting, otherwise someone would have commented.
Thanks for the general input, appreciated.
