Deployment Setup best practices for speed

Thread needs solution

Are there any published best practices for how to improve deployment speed? When we have 10 deployments at once (on a relatively isolated network) they are taking 3-4 hours to complete. When we run just 1 deployment it takes an hour.

There are no sections in the user guide about how to get the best imaging performance for deployments. Does anyone have any ideas? Acronis support is useless as they will just tell you its a network issue, even if you have a switch plugged directly into your server and the workstations hanging off the switch with no other network attached. So I'm hoping the user community might be able to help.

God I wish we these were Macs.

That's odd KIPP, what connection are you running on your LAN? Typically, it just takes me 15-20 minutes per workstation on our LAN. What method of deployment are you using?

You don't deploy Macs, they are perfect, they self deploy. Acutally, why would anybody ever want more then one of those things around...;+}

Anyway, I have the same thing. I am deploying a clean Windows 7 image and it takes ~2 hours to 1 machine in an isolated gigabit network. I just kicked off 2 machines (testing at this point) and noticed they seem to go sequentially, not in parellel. I expected to see them both start imaging at once.

Does Mutlicast Vs Unicast make a difference?
