Cannot Validate or Recover Image with Boot Media

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am testing the software at the moment. I created a full backup with a custom scheme set for differential type backups. I validated the backup while in Windows 7 x64 and it validated successfully. However, I also tried to validate the backup while booting to Acronis recovery media. While within the recovery media, I could see my backup was present, but when I right clicked and selected "validate" nothing happend. I tried waiting 15 minutes to see if anything happend. Nothing ever did. I then tried to "Recover" using the right click menu. This also did nothing.

Seems things are working so well.

Please assist.

Thanks.
Tom

Well, first of all, you did the right thing to test your recovery CD!

If you have created the CD from the latest build, you don't have many options:
- contact Acronis support,
- create another recovery BartPE disk if you have Windows XP installation files,
- create another recovery WinPE disk if you have purchase the ATI Plus Pack.

Hi Pat,

I do have the Plus Pack, I'll try making a WinPE disk with it and see if that helps I was just using the base software until I got a better handle on things.

If that doesn't work I'll shell out the "big bucks" to get support!

Thanks for the info!
Tom

Your case is weird because typically users can validate/recover when they can access their backups with the Linux version. Let's see what the WinPE version will do. It should work much better, although booting up with it is slower than with the Linux version.
