Clients unable to contact AMS

Thread needs solution

I'm having an issue where a couple of my B&R clients have become unable to contact the AMS. The appropriate services are up and running on the clients. From the AMS window I am able to do a Connect to the clients and initiate backups. However, the clients are not connecting to AMS nor updating their info, so both of them have a "Last Connection" date over a month ago. I'm also unable to manage the clients through AMS, only by directly connecting to them.

I'm running out of ideas for troubleshooting this. I don't see any security settings or configuration different than the clients that are still working fine. I'm looking for any ideas or logfiles I could look at to try to figure out why these two are "out of touch".

I had the exact same problem as you are having and even after stopping / restarting services and taking the option to repair the agent on selected workstations i still had the same issue, eventually what i had to do to get it working was to delete the machine from the AMS and then re-add it again.

Although this isn't ideal if you have a lot of machines, but its the only thing that worked for me.

Not sure however how the machines get into this state in the first instance, perhaps someone else may be able to answer that one.
