TI 2012 Failure to Launch
Today I uninstalled TI 2011, rebooted, then installed TI 2012.
The installation appeared to be successful. However, when I tried tried to run the program the opening screen appeared but almost immediately I got the dreaded "The program has stopped working" message & had to exit.
With subsequent attempts to start the program not even the opening screen appeared.
I have tried running the program in compatability mode & as administrator but it makes no difference.
I have tried running the repair option from the installation file but it makes no difference.
I have tried to uninstall the program but although the program is removed from the list of apps in "Programs & Features" all the program files, start menu entries & desktop icons remain in place.
I have uninstalled my security program, disabled startup items, clean booted then reinstalled but I get the same issue.
I have spent (wasted) several hours with tech support today & have provided them with screen shots & system information in the hope that they can resolve this.
In the meantime I am wondering if anyone else has experienced/resolved this issue?

Thanks for your reply.
I have now manually deleted the remaining folders/files, run the cleanup utility & reinstalled TI 2011 which is working okay.
Having paid for the upgrade to the 2012 version it would be nice if these issues could be resolved so that I can get my money's worth!

If ATI 2011 is working fine for you, I'd suggest you wait at least until the next update of 2012 to upgrade, if not for the second update. If you need 2012 because of the support for UEFI, GPT, or sync feature, then...

Skyrider,
Did you reboot after the uninstall of 2011 and then reboot after the installation of 2012? This sounds like a TIH component hasn't registered properly.

Colin: I rebooted after uninstalling TI 2011. I did not reboot after the first installation of TI 2012 as I was not instructed to, it just came up with an option to start the program straight away.
However I did reboot after subsequent attempts to repair the installation or reinstall the program.

I'll wait. I've had problems with previous versions of TI which took months to sort out. Can't spare that amount of time to troubleshoot.
