I have the same Problem with my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo 2110. Hard to believe that Acronis made such a mistake in there new 2011-Version! Will wait for the acronis-support. Ridiculous!

Try:
Deleting the NAS credentials in Windows Credential Manager under Control Panel.
Then start TI2011 make or edit the task pointing it towards the NAS drive, fill in the credentials box when asked, all should then work.
If problems still exist then further things to try are -
Use UNC for the NAS path it is preferred over mapped drives.
In Services.msc try changing the log on for scheduler2 service from local machine to your user crednetials.
The first option above is the one most likley to solve the NAS problem.

Same issue here to net shared drives, since the update....... well broke! I've done a bit of research around and this seems to be a common theme! Will no doubt have to wait while it is fixed. Tried all the credential business etc, no joy!

I tryed everything without a result.
The NAS-Problem is still existing! I had never such a problem with ATI 2010.
Still waiting vor Acronis-Support.

the issue you are having with your NAS backup sounds similar error message seen from this post and its network drive issues.
In this example the network drive is a USB drive hung off the USB port of a router.
The solution provided here might also apply to your device.

I have the same Problem with my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo 2110.
Money Back?

I'm still in contact with Acronis-Support. I've send them an AcronisSystemReport.zip-file. After the advice of Acronis I tested the brandnew build 5119, but the bug was'nt fixed. I'll wait for the answer. Maybe you should contact Acronis with the same problem too - so they realise, that this bug is'nt a single thing!
Money Back from acronis or your dealer? Not so easy!

Well I have a Synology DiskStation NAS device and using ATIH2011 B5519 I had no problem setting up a NAS backup using UNC path. Works just fine.
When you set up the task and have to specify the location it prompts for the username/password to connect to the NAS device other than that everything else looks the same.
You do have to navigate to the NAS device location when selecting the backup location/filename - it is at that point the username/password are asked for.

Always:
Click Browse to specify another location, Retry to try again, or click Cancel
the files is 800 mb to my nas.
Splitting to various files to my nas.
Nothing works!

Gerard,
As this is trying to create a differential, I assume it made the Full OK?
Have you tried making a new full, just in case there is a problem with the original NAS files?
Some suggestions.
1. Try a lower compression setting.
2. If you have a second internal drive or partition, try imaging a small file to it - just to make sure it is only the NAS communicatiosn that are the problem.
3. Try the file with out the split.

WIndows XP Prof. works perfect with the Nas.
Maybe problem with my Windows7 ultimate dutch?

No, there ist no point for username/password. ATI2010 had this possibility - I know. But with ATI2011 I see no option for that. Does anybody knows, where username/password could be placed in another way? BR

I have the same problem with my NAS and TIH 2011. That's a shame. Acronis should find a solution, quickly!

Well, I use Windows Vista x64 and my system has a quite complex installation. I won't re-install my whole computer just because Acronis delivers a buggy software!

I do absolutly agree with that! Before I'll re-install my complete W7-Enterprise, install drivers and all the other stuff I'm killing this buggy ATI-Version with my screwdriver!

Tryiing....
If you want to connect to a remote computer just type "\\" followed by the computer name or the IP address and then "\" followed by the location of the folder you want to connect to.
If you want to create a drive mapping to a folder on your own computer type "\\127.0.0.1\" (this stands for the local host) or "\\computer_name\" and then the path towards that folder.
Sometimes, when you create a drive mapping, you might need to use a special user name and password that allows you to connect to it. In this case, click on the Connect using a different user name link

Well, I guess that's the normal way to create a network drive connection, isn't it? This doesn't help for this problem!

Hi, I cannot save my backups on my nas. Untill the upgrade on tih2011 build 5519 I had no problems with my daily automated backups. All offered solutions above do not work. So I reinstalled build 5519 and installed build 5105! And the problem is still present.
Here some Information about my environment:
Windows 7 32 bit
TIH 2011 Build 5105
Synology DS209 with DSM 3.0 1337 (actual firmware and data management).
I tried different ways to create a backup task. Selecting mapped network drives or using UNC or even IP-addresses, nothing works.
When prompted for user credentials I put in users with admin rights on both systems (client and nas), same passwords and usernames.
When prompted by user interface “Edit authentication settings” I put in the admin-user and his password. Testing connecting works well (Connetion established). But when starting the backup task - no success! I always get an error message: “Zugriff auf Datei verweigert” (Access to file denied).
When opening the backup destination place \\NAS\Folder\ the Container shows 0 GB of 0 GB free, it indicates that ATIH2011 cannot get the right information of destination place, because there is more than 600 GB free space.
By the way, the freeware-tool “Personal Backup 5” is working without problems. So I ask myself why I spend so much money for acronis tih?

Why do we keep getting these 'acronis' solutions posted??
I'm not trying to be rude ,but a number of factors need to be considerd.
1) Generally, experienced users tend to post here..the acronis solutions have been scoured (and are usually already know anyway) for hours before, tried and failed!
2)most of us dont actually need the acronis solutions....we've already tried every which way around the software and hardware configs, both acronis and windows!
3)acronis solutions are great for those who dont RTFM then get stuck! :-)
(please read the previous posts before posting... the posts indicate that the solutions are being used anyway..thanks)
2011 is basically broke! the last update did at least allow the package to see the actual target drive capacity, so they do know that something is 'wrong' but wont admit it yet! Hopefully the next patch will sort the issue once and for all!

Ian,
Sounding off at some poor soul who thought they might be able to help you or others is likely to make others wary of offering you help.
Those users who aren't experienced might find the link helpful.
In your first post, you didn't specifically say what problem you had, just latched on to someone elses post - your problem may well have a similar or same result, but unless you have exactly the same setup, the cause for you might be different.
You haven't stated what you've actually tried, so no one will know if they are asking you to perform an action that you've already tried.
So....
Do you access your NAS via a mapped drive or using UNC?
Are you getting the 'cannot find the file' or the 'zero GB' problem or the authentication one?
Have you tried disconnecting the share and then reconnecting - for a reason I can't think of at this moment it might be that the share drive's attributes are appearing as read only rather than full permissions as far as TI is concerned.
If you make a new task do you get the same result?

Deleting the login credentials with Credentials Manager, then editing the task and entering the login info cleaned it right up. Backups are running fine now. You have resolved an extremely frustrating issue for me. Thanks!
