Problem after restore the Image Error Loading Operating System

Thread needs solution

I do have any HP Notebooks NC6120 Windows XP SP3.

I made a Hard disk Image with the Acronis True Image Home 2009 Boot CD. It worked fine. After I made a restore I can't start Windows XP anymore! The Error Message: Error Loading Operating System

I Replaced the OS in Partition C: I tried the same steeps on 3 Notebook, all of them have the same Error message. I also tried a new image and an image of last year!!!

Can anyone help to resolve the problem?

Thank you!

Did you include all partitions in your backup?

If you restored on a new disk, did you include the MBR+track0 and all partitions?

If you restore on the same disk, you should be fine without the MBR. On a blank disk, you need it.

If you have access to the XP installation DVD or if you have another computer with which you can create a Windows REcovery Console CD, use it to boot on your computer. Access a command prompt, and use the bootrec tool to scan for OS, rebuild the BCD and fix the MBR.

I installed a new Windows XP and now it works. I can backup the whole harddisk and restore it as well.
