Acronis True Image Home 12
I have just upgraded from 11 to 12. I thought i had better create the bootable rescue media, every time I try I get this: ti_boot.so (0x18000B)
Tag = 0x9078F2483C89C393.
Event code: 0x001800B+0x001800B.
I went to acronis.com/errocode/ and Acronis True Image Home 12 is not even listed in the applications.
It also said to reinstall which I did but still unable to create a bootable disk
I am not happy as this is now I feel putting me at an unaceptable risk.
Attached file is a screenshot of the error

Hello all,
Thank you for taking time to contact us.
J Maxwell and Grover,
Could you please check if the file ti_boot.so is present at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilderHome or at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilderHome?
Grover,
Have you performed a clean install or have you installed Acronis True Image Home 2012 over the previous version?
Could you please send us Acronis system report? Please obtain it from the Help section.
I have created a special case for a further investigation, here is the case number ATIHIIOXII-5864

Oleg,
System reports sent to you via email.
My install of 2012 was as per this link.
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/19091?page=2#comment-74215
All of my multiple install failures followed uninstalls.
and as for the bootable media failure, yes C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilderHome\ti_boot.so did exist at time of failure.
Once a got a successful install via the Repair Module, I tried to create both a Bootable Media CD and an ISO file. Both failed with the same error and to reinstall the program
ti_boot.so (0x18000B)
Tag = 0x9078F2483C89C393.
Event code: 0x001800B+0x001800B.
After failing to create a Bootable Media or an ISO file. I performed another uninstall of TrueImage using the uninstall program on the 5545 install program.
Program indicated uninstall was successful but a 3rd or 4th try at installing failed with the same error message which was xxxxxx. A repair was successful but creating a bootable media or iso file still failed with the same error message.
Now, for the 4th or 5th time, I did an routine successful uninstall of TrueImage. After investigating further, I found these folders were still in existence from prior installations.
MediaBuilderHome............which I renamed to old-MediaBuilderHome
TrueImageHome...............which I.renamed to old-TrueImageHome
I retried the 5545 installation and was successful.
The Create bootable media and create iso file was also successful.
It appears that the leftover folders was the cause of the install failure and the failed bootable media creation.
My system was XP Pro with SP3
It had 2011-6868 with Plus Pack and Safe Mode versions installed.
Disk Director ADV11 was also installed which is why I never used the Cleanup Utility and opted for the routine uninstall.
Plus pack was uninstalled and then 2011 was uninstalled as per

Hello Grover,
Thank you very much for your response.
I tried to reproduce the issue with no luck, I was unable to identify the exact reason of the issue.
I didn't receive Acronis system report. Could you please resend it via PMs?
Thank you.

David,
I do not know the answers to your problem but if you want to create an Bootable Media ISO file, you can download the very same file from your registration link--assuming that you have the paid version. The Bootable Media Link is the same bootable CD as if you made it yourself.

I got it fixed.
1. I installed v2012 over v2011. and then installed the Plus Pack.
2. I then got the error message.
3. I then uninstall Plac Pack v2012 and then TI v2012.
4. rebooted
5. Manually removed all "Acronis folders and files.
6. Install V2012 and then the Plus Pack.
7. Rebooted.
8. Then I made the ISO
I realized that I can download the ISO but I wanted to check out making a Bootable thumb drive using the make ISO.
thanks for the reply.

Sorry for the delay in replying but I have been on vacation. Given that I still have the same problem (as I have not been able to do anything due to vacation). What would you now like me to do in order to resolve this issue?
In your previous mail you asked what OS I was running. I am running a registered copy of "Win 7 Prof 64bit" fully patched from Microsoft.
You also asked where the ti_boot.so file was located?. it is as follows: file ti_boot.so is present at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilderHome

Hello All!
When will be relised the russian version of ATIH 2012?

The E0018000B ti_boot.so error seems to be widely spread. According to my search results at the web, only Windows 7 x64 (64bit) systems seems to be affected.
All in all it's an absolutely frustrating issue. Even more frustrating is that Acronis is not able to resolve the issue, - and that for months! They even port that bug to Acronis Disk Director 12! :(
Here are my facts, the alleged missing file "ti_boot.so" IS PRESENT in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilderHome". I removed and installed every of my Acronis Program several times, - with no success.
Because I was unable to build my own rescue medias with my legally acquired Disk Director 11, - I was forced to download a rescue media over file sharing.
Absolutely frustrating....

I have the same issue (boot.so) error when trying to create rescue media. I can see the file. Running windows 7 64 bit. please advise
Being without rescue media seems to be a fundamental flaw in back up software
I upgraded 2 of my 3 PC's from 2011 to 2012. It took the online chat guy 2 hours to install the upgrade on XP and the rescue media does not work there either
No reason to rush to do the third

Michael,
The quickest way to get going will be to download the ISO version that is available in your Acronis account, it will then need to be burned to CD using software capable of burning ISO's. If you have Nero, ImgBurn etc these will do the job.

Thanks Colin for this information but this is in fact also just a workaround and NOT an effective solution....
The only real solution seems to be a patch / update for this distracting issue....

I am getting error: " E0018000B: Cannot Load required components. Please reinstall Acronis Bootable Media Builder. Error code 0x18000B ti_boot_so Error code 0x18000B " When trying to create a Bootable Media disk that contains both ADD2011 and ATIH2011.
Error says to reinstall Bootable Media Builder. I do not know how to do that, so I resinstalled Disk Director. Same error over and over.
No apparent Windows Event records creaed. No apprent acronis log entries created.
What Do I do now?

Terry,
Try deleting the actual Media Builder folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis including the ADDE (if it exists), then reinstall TI2011 and then ADD2011, reboot between re-installs for each program.
If you don't want or need your recovery CD to contain both DD2011 and TI2011, then you can download the ISO's of th erecovery cd's from your account.
