No Harddisk available
Problems over problems with Acronis True Image Home 2012. First I reinstalled 2011 and tried to install 2012. It was an Upgrade-Version and so the Installer wanted se previous Serial number from the 2011-Version. I pu both Serial Number in but the button WEITER (further) was not aktiv, so the Installation was impossible. The same procedure from Version 2010 to 2011 ha no problems.
So I installed version 2011 again and 2012 over the previous Installation, so the Installation from 2012 was possible.
But new Problems: No Harddisks available, I saw in the Forum that the same problem exist with the Version 2011.
I am an "old" Acronis User and I'm very disappointed over this obviously unfinished software. I'm not able to save anything at the moment.

Make sure you disable your security software when you install 2012.

I tried the repair install without security software- no harddisk available. Than I reinstalled Version 2012 and installed again 2011 and than 2012 over the old version without security software - no harddisk available.
When checking the harddisks the following notice appears:
Cannot Computer initialize
Initialize of Snapshot Manager Bibliothek failed(0x10000005), Unknown Status (0x9) code=2
The System cannot find the given file(0xFFF0), code= 800700002 etc.
No way to work with Acronis 2012.

Rolf,
Did you shut down the PC and restart it between removing 2011 and installing 2012? It is better to reboot between uninstalling and installing when problems like this occur.
I think there is a registry entry that is either not being installed or is stopping the installer installing the newer Snapman driver.
Other than raising a support ticket or chat session, the only long shot would be to try another repair install, but right click on the installer file and select 'Run as Administrator', this might allow the installer to overwrite either the file or the registry entry it needs to.

Thank you for your answers Colin and Pat!
I solved the problem with chat-Help from Acronis:
The problem with the serial number and the harddisks is well known by Acronis.
Before Deinstallation 2012 I had to stop 3 Acronis-servises: Under "Ausführen" put in services.msc and delete Acronis Nonstop Backup Services, Acronis Schedule2 Service and Acronis Spy Agent Service. Then I deinstalled Acronis 2012 with the cleanup-Tool 2012, the normal Deinstallation failed, then a System Newstart was necessary.
Then I installed the Testversion 2012, I got a Test-Serial Number from my Chat-partner (Acronis doesn't send me a test-Number after downloading the file as adumbrate, unlogical as some other things) The Installation proceeded normal and the harddisks where now available. Then I activated the Version with my Normal Serialnumber. I Ihink a long and complicated way and I'll wait to do the same with my second computer until a normal expiration is possible, speak a new corrected build.
Regards
Rolf
