Unable to upgrade to build 17311

Thread needs solution

Currently running B&R v11 build 17217 on Windows 7 x64. I've downloaded build 17311 but it won't install. I've downloaded it twice just in case the download was corrupt but same error. See attached screenshot.

Cheers, Rob.

Hmm... looks like this build cannot be installed from the network! Copy the installer to a local drive and it runs.

Rob.

I had that too on two of my 6 computers. The other 4 ran the installer over network... Strange.

Hi Rob and Forellenblau,

Thank you for your comments.

Rob, did Acronis software installed correctly? Have you faced any issues with it after the installation? Please let us know, we would like to help you with it.

Forellenblau, Rob, this might be network connectivity issue, but cannot say for sure, we never reproduced such behavior in our lab. Forellenblau, is everything is working fine at the moment, do you experience any problems with the software after the installation?

Let us know if you have any questions, we will be glad to help.

Thank you.

Hi Yana,

no, everything is OK with the new build, ABR11 works smoothly on all workstations and our server.

The only thing was (in addition to the above mentioned) that on 3 of our computers there were some installation leftovers from ABR10 - i remember an entry in the program and function section of Win7 named "ABR10 Upgrade Utility" and the second was i think an ABR10 Agent.
The ABR11 setup said that the ABR10 Upgrade Utility had to be uninstalled first. I quit the setup of ABR11 and uninstalled these two components in program and functions section manually.

After that the setup of ABR11 ran through without error.

Hi Yana,

The problem I had was trying to upgrade the existing v11 so yes, it was installed correctly. The problem is quite simple - the upgrade gives that error (every time) when you try and run from a Windows 2003 network share but works fine when run locally. So whilst rather perplexing, it's not a show stopper.

Forellenblau was just saying "me too" although for them it worked on some, and not on others.

Rob.
