Disk Clone - HDD Empty??????

Thread needs solution

Hi
I am trying to copy my old laptop HDD as I have upgraded to a bigger one.
I have created bootable media, plugged the old one in USB and installed the new one in the laptop.
The bootable media works fine but when I select the source disk (both disks appear in the list ok) it say i cannot select empty hard disk as the source'
But its not empty!! Just to check nothing odd happened I swapped the old disk back into the laptop and it boots fine.
So why does it think this disk is empty when I try and use it as the source in disk clone?
Would any HDD passwords cause a problem?
Thanks

It is possible that the password creates a problem, but if Windows can see the disk in the USB, ATI should see it as well.

Are you positive you select the right disk? The drive letters when you ATI on the recovery disk are not the same as in Windows. That can be a source of confusion.
