SELECT BACK UP MODE

Thread needs solution

Hey all,

i just wanted to query a choice of back upmode.

When i go into back up, and select a number of single Folders with certain files that I want to back up, which is fine and i follow the wizard through.

then i come to SELECT BACK UP MODE,
but it only gives me 3 choices, such as -Create FULL BACK UP - INCREMENTAL - DIFFERENTIAL.

Which one do I select, when all I want to back up is a number of single personal folders and files i have chosen, my selections dont fit any of those 3 Categories, "FULL BACK UP" - ("INCREMENTAL" - "DIFFERENTIAL". so which one do i choose?

the only reason i am selecting the personal single folders and files data i want backed up is to get the total size down, because all of a sudden it says my full back wont fit into the acronis secure zone on my internal hard drive because it reckons the size is to big, and yet my secure zone is 65gig and the whole computer back up data is only 45gig, and yet it still will not run a the full back up as usual.
Also my usual Full Backup has gone from say 45 minutes to a whopping 4 hours, and stops because it says its full which i dont know how.

i would really appreciate any help you can offer me, as the help files dont address this question.

thank you very much for your time
cheers Kev

Hello KiwiKev,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

What is the exact title of the program you are using? In order to backup separate files and folders you should choose Backup -> File Backup.

In order to solve the issue with full Acronis Secure Zone you should either increase it size (Tools -> Manage Acronis Secure Zone -> Increase Acronis Secure Zone), or manually create Full backup.

Acronis True Image uses the following scheme to clean up Acronis Secure Zone:

- If there is not enough free space in the zone to create a backup, the program deletes the oldest full backup with all subsequent incremental/differential backups.

- If there is only one full backup (with subsequent incremental/differential backups) left and a full backup is in progress, then the old full backup and incremental/differential backups are deleted.

- Otherwise, (only one full backup left, and an incremental/differential backup is in progress) you will get a message about space error. In that case you will have to either re-create the full backup or increase Acronis Secure Zone.
