"Black Screen" when booting Startup Recovery Manager
I am trying to restore a backup on my system partition C which cannot be done from within windows. So Acronis True Image Home asks for a restart and signals that the Linus version is booted. However, after a short time period, the screen turns black and there is no action whatsoever on the hard disk etc.
I tried also booting the Startup Recovery Manager directly with F11 and again, after the splash screen of Acronis, the screen turns black with no action following.
The same scenario when I try booting from the rescue disks. After I select True Image from the CDs boot menu, the splash screen is displayed, data is loaded from CD, then the screen turns black and nothing happens. After a few seconds, even the CD drive is stopped since there is no read action.
I did the backup over a year ago with the Startup Rcovery Manger. Back then, it worked. I couldn't find a matching KB article. What are possible reasons for the startup recovery manager to fail?
Thanks and best regards!
I'm using Windows 7 and True Image Home 11

Peter:
If you made your rescue disk on another CD/DVD burner and then try to use that disk in a different reader, then that is what happens to me. I suspect that the media difference that the two burners see has been a problem forever. Try making the Rescue Media on the same burner that you will use to read the disk when you reboot.

Hi Anton, hi Wbird,
thanks for your reply.
@Anton: Attached you can find the report you asked me about.
@Wbird: It's definitely not a problem of the CD Burner since the CD was created with the exact same burner and it produces the same error as when trying to start Acronis Recovery Manager from the Boot menu. This fail was the whole reason why I created the CDs to see if it is just an installation error.
