Acronis error

I guess you are backing up to a network share or NAS. Correct?
In this case, this kb article might help: http://kb.acronis.com/content/5138
After you have verified ATI still has the right credentials to access your share, try to run a new backup. For a network share, it is better to use the full UNC path rather than pointing at a mounted drive. Create a new task if checking/editing the existing task doesn't work.

Moz2611,
The first thing to do is to delete the task. Here is how to do it without losing your backup files:
- move the TIB files you want to keep to another directory on the same disk (that will avoid a long copy),
- within ATI, delete the backup task. ATI will complain it couldn't delete all the files. Insist. ATI will possibly crash. Whatever. Restart it.
Then create a new task and see if it works.
If it doesn't, to help diagnose the isse we have to try a couple of things:
- try the same backup from the recovery CD. If this works, you know you have a Windows installation issue. Uninstall, reboot, reinstall. If this doesn't solve it, you will have to reinstall on a clean boot and try again.
- if it doesn't work from the recovery CD, try to backup to another USB disk (even a small backup). If it works, try the same backup from Windows. You now know you have a disk issue. Verify your connectors, run a chkdsk /R on that disk, etc.
- if you cannot even backup to another disk, you might have a hardware issue: run chkdsk /r on your disk you backup, run memtest86 on the memory.
Beyond that, I am running out of ideas.
