Backup types
Do I have to back-up emails separately or are these included when I choose a differential "Laufwerk"-Backup? Is the "Laufwerk"-Backup the most comprehensive backup type yielding a mirror image of my computer?
[Note that I am using a German version of Acronis True Image Home 2012 and don't know the exact translation of the expression "Laufwerk"-Backup (Drive Backup?).]

Theodor,
A disk and partition backup will contain all the information on the disk to restore it to a brand new disk. Period.
An email backup will allow you to restore individual emails, and backup your emails incrementally (instead of backing up the whole PST file, like a file backup would do).

Colin,
thanks for your help!
Can I ask you another question? What errors would the "Verify" command pick-up? If "Verify" after a "Drive Backup" returns a "successful" reply, can I be sure that a full image of the drives is prepared and can be restored after a breakdown? Could I "practice" a "Restore" without risk?
Thanks for help,
Theodor

Theodor,
A successfull 'verify' would give you 99% certainty of risk free restoration. Only an actual restoration would be able to give you a 100% certainty.
The only 'practice' you could try is to either 'explore or mount' the image and if that works and you can navigate to all your files, then again you'll have a 99% chance of perofrming a successful restoration.
