Timounter64.dll

Thread needs solution

After updating to 2012, I receive an incorrect dll error on timounter64.dll when launching adobe suite apps. Googling this dll has multiple references to known 2011 errors.

Need feedback from Acronis ASAP. It is one thing for this software to be broken itself, it has far greater implication to break other apps! We are talking revenue generation at this point !

Delete the dll and then repair install, the previous version may not have been replaced.

Did that. NFG. Basically, Photoshop is complaining that this dll is not registered properly.

Again, another new issue with 2012 that was fixed in 2011.

This one is serious -- can't make money if photoshop is not running.

Photoshop complains about timeounter64.dll?

What is the exact error message?

As DLL's once registered can work with any program that requests it, sometimes a manual registration of the DLL is required, though I can't think why Photoshop would use an Acronis DLL.

To manually register whichever DLL is playing up you need open up a command prompt and naviagte to (for a 64 bit system) C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe (confusingly this is the 64bit version and the 32bit version lives in WOW64). Once there type in regsrv32.exe timounter64.dll

Again if you have an earlier disk or partition image the easiest thing to do is to restore back.

OWL error -- photoshop thinks it's registered as part of the plug-in subsystem, but obviously it won't load.

Are you able to run a repair install of Photoshop or perhaps unregister the DLL?

Repair install may do it -- for now --- However, every time there is an update to 2012, the same thing will happen unless I find out exactly why. This is the Master Suite and takes a LONG time to install. Will have to put on my techie hat for a while.
