Create master image on remote computer

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a query about taking master images from remote machines. I have a Windows 2008 server running the management console, pxe, licensing server and universal deploy. I'm trying to take a master image of a remote Windows 7 Dell notebook from the server however I'm getting the "agent on the remote computer does not support creating/checking image protocols or it has a different version". I have the management agent installed on the remote computer and can image the machine manually.

My question is: do I need the snap deploy management agent installed on the SERVER as well to get this to work? I did try to install it already but as I don't currently have a server license I was unable to complete the install. I just want to know if this will fix the issue and then I'm happy to buy the server license.

Thanks in advance,
D

Hello Dan,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will do my best to help you.

To answer your question, you do not need the Management Agent installed on your server in order to image your Windows 7 machine.

Most likely this issue is caused by different versions of the Management Console and the Management Agent. Would you be kind enough to check the Help->About section of the Management Console and the Management Agent version from Windows add/remove programs section.

If you need immediate assistance you can always contact our Support team directly.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi Anton,

Thanks for the reply. I've checked the versions of both the management console on the server and the agent on the windows 7 machine:

Server: Build 3501
Win 7: Product Version 3.0.3501

Hello Dan,

Thank you for the follow-up.

In this case please check the following:

1. Check that all Acronis services are started on the remote Windows 7 machine.

2. Do you have ABR installed on the Windows 7 machine machine by any chance?

3. Please check this KB article and disable SSL encryption.

Just in case, if you need immediate assistance please contact our Support team directly.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Anton,

1. All services are running but I still receive the error
2. Acronis Advanced Backup and Recovery not installed on either machine
3. Disabled SSL on Server and restarted services didn't help

I have also sent a request through to support regarding this.
