New Motherboard, Keep Previous HD

Thread needs solution

Hello All and Happy Holidays,

I was wondering if anyone has the solution for putting thier old HD, non SSD,10,000 rpm, Win7x64 into a newer Motherboard. Both motherboards are made by the same company. If you have any ideas I would be grateful. I want to keep all my programs etc....
Thank-you and have a safe weekend,

Same-maker motherboards might need (proably will need) diff drivers -- in fact different dates of manufacture of the same model motherboard might need diff drivers! If they aren't the same model and issue of motherboard, you should probably treat restoration as being to a diff PC and use universal restore.

Thank you forthe response,

I'm updating from a Intel DP55KG to a Intel DZ68BC. One major difference is the CPU, one has the 1156 socket, and the later I7 2600 has a 1155 socket. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have never tried this before. I always went with fresh installs. Thank you for you're help. I really want to keep my files from the old hard drive, actually I need to keep them.

Thank-you again,
