C: Paritition Backup to E: External Drive Runs, But Fails on Validation
I will give this a try here. I have seen this problem happen to many others, but I am still trying to get to the bottom of what's going on with this. I am running Windows 7 x64 - backup itself runs okay, but validation fails as "corrupt". I have done the following:
a) Ran CHKDSK /F and /R on the E: drive. No errors.
b) Ran MEMORY DIAGNOSTICS. No errors.
c) Created backup on internal drive. Ran good BUT also got corrupt validation, so that rules out a problem with the external drive.
d) Was able to mount / browse both backup TIB files.
I have a feeling that if and when this post gets replied to, that I will be told it's because of a "hardware problem". But there are no known hardware problems with my system.
So, what's up with this? Here's the last 10 lines or so from the notification that I send myself:

Please advise. This is driving me nuts, and I am afraid that because of this, it will abort if I had to try to do a system restore.
Thanks...

Thanks, Pat. I will run memtest86 this week. I don't have a spare disk to try a restore, but you're right - I need to find out / get one to see if the restore will work...because if it does, I will just not do a validation. It might be a bit before I post back here with results. I appreciate the help!
