Acronis Not Checking for Updates

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded to ATIH 2012, build 6131. Acronis is set to check for updates automatically at startup. However, it never does. Likewise, when I click on Check for Updates, Acronis reports that I am using the latest version (build 6131). Subsequently, I logged into my account and discovered build 6154 is available.

The serial number is activated and I've registered ATIH 2012 on my account. What's up with Acronis not reporting an update is available?

I was trying to update to version 6154 from a file I downloaded, and the installer checked the version via the web. The message which came back was that I was already had the latest version so I cancelled. I did this several times until I saw that there was a button that appeared just above the message. I clicked it and it installed fine. Note that the install button which appears is not very obvious. Hover your mouse over it and it appears.

I think the message you are getting means that the version you are trying to install is the current one.

I am curious.

1. If you get the update from 6131 to 6154, does it update the Plus Pack as well, or does that require a separate update for that?

2. Do you think that Acronis distinguishes between Version, and Build? Like, a new version might be Acronis 2013. Whereas the build would just be an update within the same Version?

I experienced the identical behavior. I'm hoping it's because the differences in builds seemed to be confined to license-key acceptance, and they conclude that, if you already managed to install 6131, you don't really need 6154. But I think the product should always offer the latest build available, regardless of how miniscule the changes. Let the user decide.
