Error: "not a valid Win32 application"

Thread needs solution

I tried to install True Image Home on my wife's Windows 7 64x lap top. the "not a valid Win32 application" error appeared. I saw the 2 knowledge base articles about how to fix it. However, the article about upgrading Windows Installer 4.5 makes no mention of whether it applies to Windows 7.

From what I understand, I need to try two things, according to the knowledge base articles:

-Download the latest TRIH 2012 version to see if IT will install (I had downloaded the latest version for my Vista 32x without any problems just a few days before), and

-Fix the windows installer-but I would very much like to know if that fix applies to Windows 7.

I there an issue with TRIH 2012 and Windows 7?

thanks,

No, it's not a prob with w7 generally; it's an issue on your machine. You canrun the microsoft update utility to clean you your installer data.
Also, you can use msconfg.exe to avoid any program conflicts while installing.
