New Activation Scheme

Thread needs solution

My guess is Acronis is shooting themselves in the foot over enacting the Activation scheme. We know how well this has worked for Microsoft. While this may cut down a little on folks putting a copy on more that one computer, it will no doubt cause a reduction in repeat sales. and more piracy, or at the very least, folks will just find some other app, hey, we can't have someone putting a copy on their laptop too. I know I will not be upgrading anymore, I am retired so I cannot afford to pay for a copy on every computer, so in my case, they are going to lose $29.99 per year, but hey, we are creating more sales, are we Not!!! I am just going to go to a free or different app. Have a nice day. Greediness rears it's ugly head again.

Hello Teddy,

I had found that when I upgraded, Acronis offered me a very cheap extra licenses to the count of the number of licenses I upgraded.

They have done that for the last two years, so I now have enough licenses (4) for my entire family's PCs, which initially made me very happy.

Sadly their product also no longer appears to work, so my initial happiness has turned into great sadness and I may have to look for a family pack deal on backup software elsewhere.

well, I have not seen a cheap offer for extra upgrade licenses, $19.95 US but this is not cheap for me. As I would need 3 extra, this would be an extra $60.00 to an already strained budget.
