install win7 from XP and save programs w/o having to reinstall all of them???
I have winXP and want to do a clean install of Win7 but i don't want to have to reinstall every one of my programs. is there a way to use Acronis Home 11 to save not only files and settings but all my programs to another drive and once win7 is intalled bring the programs back onto the drive where win7 just was installed to?
i have used Acronis to clone discs but this isn't a cloning operation so i don't know if it can do the program thing that i want it to do.
Thanks

Thanks Pat...
i know that when i have cloned drives I could copy programs so I thought that it might be possible to move programs to another drive and then revover them on the new OS win7. I just didn't want to have to install every one of my programs one at a time...

Very few programs are standalone exe files. Most of them used the Windows registry and link to Microsoft OS libraries. It is impossible to know. So you cannot move programs by moving files.
