ADD11 Workstation intallation fails with error 1603

Thread needs solution

I bought a new DD11 Advanced workstations and I do not seem to get it installed, all I get is error 1603 and a rollback. This happens in two computers, both are 64bit Win7 with ABR11 and quite many other programs.

I made a support request yesterday, but it would be nice to have this working soon as I have quite urgent need for it.

Thank you for suggestion, but perhaps it is not a problem with license server as I do not think ADD uses that. Actually I tried to enter ADD license number to my ABR11 license server, but it did not like it.

I disabled virus checking, but it did not help. I searched the forum and found the same error number connected with True Image Home and I think there was a problem with some file access.

I reread the installation log and there was messages about some new versions of something (it was not at all clear what it ment) and it was unable to uninstall it. Then it complained about not enough rights, so I "disabled UAC" but it did not help. This is quite a nuisance as the Home version of ADD11 installed just fine.

The home version has a little problem with ABR11 and I also think that perhaps it is not suitable for my office computer.

If someone wants to know the solution was first to uninstall ABR11 and then install ADD11. I figured out this myself, but I got the same idea from Acronis support, they were little slow with this case.

I think somebody should do something with this installation problem!
