Problems removing ATIH 2011 Prior to Installing ATIH 2012
Today I purchased the 3 user version of ATIH 2012
Before Installing the new version
1. Backed-up Hard drive with ATIH 2011 to USB Drive
2. Used Add/Remove to delete ATIH2011 (Only wanted the new version, not an update)
3. Rebooted PC
Checked system and found the following:
1. Acronis folder did not get removed
Program Files\Acronis still contained files
2. The registry still has entires for Acronis and I cannot delete them
Local_Machine
Software
Acronis
Scheduler
3. In Documents and Settings
All Users
Start Menu
Programs
Acronis (Cannot delete either folder)
Folder - ATIH2011 (Tools and Utilities)
Folder - Tools & Utilitires (Bootable Rescue Media Builder)
4. Start Menu still has Acronis entries (Cannot delete them)
Anyone have any suggestions to fix the problems?
Thank you

If you did an uninstall of 2011l, you should be good to go for an install of 2012. However......
Before you install 2012, a couple thoughts.
1. Hopefully, you have a current full disk option backup when the 2011 version was installed. Retain such a backup in case you have a need to restore back to when 2011 was installed.
If you do not have a current full disk option backup, then make a new backup of your existing system before you install 2012. Should you want or need to return to 2011, you can restore your new backups and reinstall version 2011 overtop after the restore.
If you have plus pack installed (under Plus in the Add/remove options), uninstall before installing 2012.

the add/remove of atih2011 did NOT remove it.
there are still parts of it installed
1. start menu
2. registry
the add/remove and reboot should have deleted everything and it did not.

I understand and completely agree. No remnants should have remained.
What I am saying is that the 2012 should install anyway and will overwrite any remains.
Backup still recommended before the install. Cleanup utility for 2011 is offered. Check my signature below for links to 2011 cleanup.

I downloaded the 2011 cleanup utility
I ran it and responded to all questions
It ran and system was rebooted.
All registry entries are gone.
Program Files\Acronis is gone
There are still 2 entries that show up
Start, then Programs
Acronis True Image Home --->Tools and Utilities --->Bootable Rescue Media Builder
This did not get removed and the system will not let me delete it
Error deleting file
Cannot delete Media Rescue Media Builder - Access is denied
Anyway to get rid of this? This is more than annoying
