How does one request a refund?

Thread needs solution

I was using TI 2010 and also foolishly decided to upgrade to 2012. I get constant "access denied", "file not found" issues when I try to create a backup.

I seem to be unable to backup to a mapped drive.
I seem to be unable to backup to a Synology NAS (DS1511+) (2010 had no problems with this).

How do I get my money back?

Request refund from where you bought TI 2012.

Email customer service or chat (which is probably the fastest). There's a 30day satisfaction guarantee. You also get free access to support for that period so there shouldn't be any problem/ If they try to talk you out of it, aks them to stop trying to talk you out of it and just honor the guarantee.
