Universal Deploy - Setup was unable to find section mshdc.inf in dependent file mshci_Inst

Thread needs solution

I was attempting to deploy an image made from a Virtual Machine, to physical hardware with Acronis Snap Deploy with Universal Deploy. When attempting this the following happened:

Message 1
Type: Warning
Module: 47,104
Error(Code): 58,616(0xB800E4F8)
Message: Acronis universal Restore Opertion was failed.

Message 2
Type: Warning
Module: 29
Error(Code): 410(0x1D019A)
Message: Setup was unable to find section mshdc.inf in dependent file msahci_Inst.

Please provide any assistance with this, as I really need Univerals Deployment.

Hello James,

Let me assist with this situation. Also, I would be glad to answer any other questions concerning Acronis.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: you're trying to deploy some image with Acronis Snap Deploy and Universal Deploy option. During the template creation you're specifying some path to file with driver.

If that's correct, the message you reported means that system cannot find a driver in the file you specified in Universal Deploy. Especially, it points to msahci_Inst file. Could you please make sure that you're selecting a correct file? It should be in .inf format and should contain a driver for your HDD controller.

If this does not help, could you please larify some details of the situation so I can investigate it further?

-Could you please let me know the build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)?

-Could you please provide me with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the issue you report, so that I can try to reproduce it?

-Acronis Snap Deploy logs as it's described in this article

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

I get the same message "Setup has failed to find section 'mshdc.inf' in dependent file 'msahci_Inst'."

This happens when I try to apply universal restore to a Dell Precision WS T5500 from an image of a Dell WS 470. I'm using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 build 11.0.17318. I've previously done this successfully with this product and I'm not sure why it is giving me this warning now. When I try to boot from the system volume it fails with message "Error loading operating system." What can I do to allow it to find this mshdc.inf file? I've tried pointing it to a directory where this file is contained but to no avail.

As far as Dell PC's are concerned, do the two PC's use the same disk geometry? I realise this MS file contains the install information for hard drives PNP signatures, but I wonder if Dell have something extra going on which prevents the restoration of one model to a different model.

I'm not sure if they use the same disk geometry (not sure what you mean by this). Both disks are very similar. They are made by the same manufacturer etc. I noticed the AHCI mode is not available with the older hard drive but when using the "Restore anywhere" feature in Symantec Backup and Restore the restore was successful. The only error it has is "Device driver 'PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3A22&SUBSYS_026E1028&REV_00' for Microsoft Windows XP Professional cannot be found." but it knows to look for a .OEM file which you can find in the same folder which has iastor.sys, iastor.inf, iaahci.cat, etc. and this seems to be at least partly responsible for properly installing the SATA drivers for AHCI mode. I would like to get Acronis Backup and Restore 11 Server to work though because Symantec product has licensing limitations and does not have a bootable backup program (it must first be installed on the machine and backed up with the Windows GUI before using the bootable restore program). So from this information it is apparent that it is possible to restore the Dell WS 470 to a Dell WS T5500 but (as far as I can tell, after spending an entire day trying different things to get it work) not possible with the newest Acronis product.

Hello, I'm trying to do a restore from a server under HP Proliant ML110 G6 with windows server 2003 to an HP Pro 3400 MT. This is a test restore to check if my backup works good but I'm getting through issues. The restoration seem's to be ok and when I, undr Acronis Boot Media, navigate through my personal vault, the complete architecture of my server seem's to be ok. but the problem is that the restoration process fail to find mshdc.inf in dependent file 'msahci_Inst'. I also have advices in the log saying that the PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C2D.... ,   PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C02... and PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C26... drivers are not found. Ihave dowloaded them and puted them in the search directory but nothing changed. I have also downloaded Infinst_Autol from internet that I unpacked  and puted in the search directory but still no result. I am convince that the problème come's from mass storage drivers but all I've tried to fix it is desperate. Could someone help me fix this issue please !

here is the very last driver I downloaded in .zip format that I have uncompressed. As mentioned, it involve all the drivers that lake in my log and much more but didn't successed to fix the issue.
Help please.
Thks.
