Save of windows partition and softwares

Thread needs solution

First of all, sorry about my writing, but I'm not an english native speaker.

Well, I have two partitions on my hard disk drive.

C partition = windows partition (windows XP SP 3) and all softwares
D partition = data

I understand the interest to save D partition.

But I don't understand what can I expect if I save C partition.

For example, I mean If I have a failure or crash disk. Will I be able to restart my system with all my softwares if I make a backup of the C partition on a new hard disk?

What's the best way (if it is possible) to save my software and my system in order to recover them in case of a crash or any hardware problems?

Make a Backup, select the checkbox to select the entire disk (which will include all partitions). Save the backup to different drive, such as an external USB hard drive. The backup will be a compressed file with extension ".tib". You can save many backups to the same hard drive.

If you ever need to recover, you would boot from the Acronis True Image bootable recovery media (either from CD or USB flash drive). You would choose to recover the entire disk. The result would be that your drive would be restored to exactly how it was when you made the backup. So, all your software, all your data, all your settings, etc., would all be exactly as they were.

Full disk backups are the most complete form of backup, as they will contain everything.
