Recovering MS Outlook 2003 calendar and contacts???

Thread needs solution

Hello Everyone! I recently had to reformat my laptop hard drive and reinstall programs. I have a saved image of my hard drive using Acronis 9. I have reinstalled Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, using an installation disc I had on hand. How do I use the saved image to reinstall my calendar and contacts?? Any help would be highly appreciated.

David,

To restore your outlook data, you have 2 separate tasks:
First, you have to manually recreate your Outlook profile and accounts. If you are using POP3, set up your mail server to keep a copy of your emails for the time being.
- once your accounts are set up, close outlook.

Second, you have to restore the Outlook archive files (PST, OST, if any) to their location.
- mount the TIB file you have created and navigate to the default folder location in the mounted image (if you have the default one it is C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook on XP). Copy your OST and PST files from the mounted archive back to the folder on the live system.
- if you have changed the names from the default names, you will have to rename the files appropriately so that Outlook finds the right ones when it starts up, or you will have to change the settings in outlook so that the default archive file for send/receive is the restored file.
- start outlook.
