Cannot Boot in Safe Mode

Thread needs solution

Since upgrading to 2012, I cannot boot into safe mode. This is yet another problem with 2012. After taking five weeks to get disk backups working, I'm only discovering problems as I go, such as freezes and crashes. Now I realize that the 30 days is totally inadequate amount of time for either to request a refund or technical support. I should have just requested a refund as soon as I ran into problems, but I'm not sure my computer will ever run right again.

Using Windows XP SP3, when booting in Safe Mode the computer hangs at fltsrv.sys
No BSOD, the computer just stops.

Just in case someone suggests it, I have uninstalled, and reinstalled, and uninstalled, and cleaned, and reinstalled.

Yes, I saw that afterwards. I'm not using Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. I'm not sure if I understand the instructions about memory dumps, and I suppose if I want anyone to look at them, I'll have to pay Acronis.
