Hi:

Acronis has been running disk images according to the above configuration correctly, one full full backup every week with daily differentials. Everything was fine until I restored from a differential backup recently.

The restore was OK and the system ran OK, but when Acronis resumed making disk images according to schedule, the next day was a differential backup, it logged "the last backup has failed", although the file size appeared to be the same as a full backup. Then the next day, another differential backup with a log "the last backup has failed". That file size too was a full backup.

I looked for error explanations or codes, but did not see any.

Question:
Why is Acronis giving the message: "the last backup has failed"? And why is Acronis differential backups now the same size as a full backup (the last full backup has NOT been deleted)?

Thanks

As a result of the restore, the Acronis data base is mixed up. The program is seeing backups it did not know existed.

You can wait and maybe Acronis will reset itself but my suggestion would be to change the current task to "do not schedule" or remove task from list.

Create a new task pointing to a new folder or sub-folder and enable TrueImage to begin fresh starting a whole new chain.

Thanks for your quick response.

It appears to be a bug in Acronis.

Will a Acronis Representative investigate this issue, please?

Question:
If in the future I restore from a daily differential backup, then after the restore is completed, I deleted the NEWER Acronis differential backups by using Windows Explorer to Recycle Bin, should this act as a reset so that Acronis will continue with differential backups at the next scheduled daily run of the proper size for a differential backup?

Hello reio98387 and Grover,

Thank you for your comments and your valuable assistance Grover.

reio98387, I would recommend using Grover's suggestion and create a new backup task. To answer your question, most likely this will not fix the issue and you will continue to get full backups.

Before resetting your task, could you get back to me with this report so that I can study the program logs.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
