Oh No! My First Restore

Thread needs solution

My first restore ever is about to take place; hopefully. (Come on Acronis. Work with me baby!)
Bad C drive preventing a boot up is the culprit.

My backup plan has been a KISS - Simply doing daily Image backups to Secure Zone on another drive - D:

So plaese tell me if these steps are what I need to do:
1) A complete new re-install of Vista to my C:
2) Test it for bootability run some basic utilities withing Vista.
3) Download and install my Acronis True Home 11
4) Restore the backup Image from D back to C.

Is that all I need to do?

Thanks!!!!!

If you did a complete backup of your entier disk, then you don't need to reinstall Vista or anything else.
Boot wtih your ati bootCD, restore a backup and you're done.

IF you didn't make a boot CD, tsk tsk, then yes, you have to make one so install vista, install ati, and make the bootcd or get on another machine, login to acronis.com, go to product updates and download the bootcd iso and burn it to cd and use that.

You can also start a restore from within windows with ati but it's going to reboot into linusx to do the restore so you might as well use the bootCD and avoid mucking about with the bootmanager in windows.
