Not able to restore to dissimilar hardware using acronis backup and recovery server 11

I recently buyed Acronis Backup & Recovery Server 11+Universal Restore, especially for restoring to dissimilar hardware.However to my dismay i am not able to get the software working for restoring to dissimilar hardware.

Whenever i restore an Operating System partition to another computer the system starts, the OS logo appears and then either a BSOD appears or the system keeps on restarting.and this happens even if i use the Universal Restore option.

My TestBed
----------

1)Installed Windows XP and Windows 7 in VMware Workstation 8
2)Installed all the required softwares (like office etc) in both the operating system except VMware tools (vmware drivers)
3)Using the bootable CD created(with linux representation style) from my host machine, i booted into the VMware OS, took a backup of the operating systems individually.

4)Tried to restore it back in a physical machine but doesnt work. ive tried everything, different brands of processors, HDD's, to desktops, laptops(HP probook 4430) and anything possible.but nothing works.

Please Help me with this. ive spent money into this thing!
Did i buy a bad software or is it that ive buyed the wrong edition?

*Xp ends up with a BSOD while win 7 just shows logo and keeps retsarting
*All my trials included restoring WITH the MBR.
* I am not interested in restoring the complete HDD but only the required partition

Note-: If i deploy those OS images back in the virtual machine, they work like a charm.

B&R server + UR should work with workstation OSes too,
Is it a dualboot system originally installed in the VM?
If you boot from bootable CD on the restored, BSODing, physical system and select 'apply universal restore', does it detect operating system and prompt for drivers, or not?

1)It isnot a dual boot system.
2)It detects the OS, but doesn't ask for any kind of drivers
*it just detects the OS and when i click OK, the universal restore patching starts and ends with the "Succeeded" status
*i did some research on the net and it seems like universal restore wont work unless i provide it with the SATA or chipset drivers of the target system. is it true?...if it is then its not an seamless solution.

This may happen if the driver for disk controller is already installed, but the controller operates in AHCI mode while in the original system it was in IDE (BIOS) mode. In this case the controller reports its PCI ID, ( it's the same when it operates in either AHCI or IDE mode), the already installed driver matches it and nothing is done. Can you temporarily switch target system disk mode to IDE to check it?
Well, you have to provide it with drivers when it asks for them, it can't generate the necessary drivers out of nowhere, however in case of Windows 7 most popular drivers are already cached in the installed system. ( quoting userguide - The Windows default driver storage folder is determined in the registry value DevicePath, which can be found in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion. This storage folder is usually WINDOWS/inf. )
