Update from True Image Echo to B&R 11 fails

Hello,

I want to update my Acronis True Image Echo Server 9.1 to Acronis Backup & Recovery 11. I have at the moment only a trial licence for 15 days and want to test it. I downloaded this file "ABR11S_17318_de-DE.exe" and started it, choosed update from older version and paste my trial licence code in the field. At the Core Installation it fails with this error message:

Nachricht: Installationsfehler.

Nachricht: Schwerwiegender Fehler bei der Installation

I attached the msi log file to this post. If I uninstall my older version and install it clean can I still buy and Update Licence for B&R 11?

Technical-level upgrade
You can install Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 components only over the components of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

So it's not possible to upgrade the existing installation.
It is possible to uninstall the existing version and install B&R 11 using your trial key, then convert it to 'full' using purchased upgrade key and the old key of 9.1 .

Ah, okay. I read on this page about the Upgrade possibilities and in the second table is True Image Echo Server 9.1 to B&R 11 Server for Windows. So I thought I can just upgrade over the existing installation.

Thank you for your answer. I will try to uninstall and install the new version of it.

Another question: It isn't allowed to use the licence of True Image Echo Server 9.1 after I upgraded it to 11 on an other server, isn't it?

If you upgraded it using an upgrade key, then 'base' 9.1 license and '11 upgrade' license are both considered used there and can't be used on another computer.
