Funny Bootable Media Menu

Thread needs solution

When I boot from a CD containing the bootable media (created from the v6154 ISO), I first come to a text-only menu that gives me the options of 1) ATI Home, 2) Acronis System Report, or c) "continue booting". If I choose (1) or (2), after about a minute of CD activity the system hangs. If I chose (c), however, I then come to a graphical menu that gives me the choices of ATI Home, Acronis System Report, or Windows--and all these choices work properly.

Why does the initial seemingly faulty menu exist?

Thanks.

Hello Bob and Dennis,

Thank you for your posts.

We do not have any reports about such issue, that is why I would really appreciate if you could get back to us with the following information:

1. A digital photo of the menu where the bootable media hangs.

2. Could you please perform test recovery operations so that we can know if the media is functional or not.

3. Acronis system report from the bootable media.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

I've attached a Word document with two photos. The first is of the text menu when the bootable media CD starts to load.

Next is the screen I see at the point the program freezes (which happens if I choose (1) or (2) from the text menu).

2) >> Could you please perform test recovery operations so that we can know if the media is functional or not. <<

As I mentioned before, if I choose "c. continue booting" from the text menu, I'm taken to a second menu (this one graphical instead of just text) where I'm again presented with the choices of True Image Home or Acronis System Report. Both of these work properly. I tried a test recovery and it went fine.

3) I've attached the Acronis System Report

Thanks.
Bob

Hello Bob,

Thank you for the provided information.

According to the files you have provided, Acronis UEFI loader fails on your system. We should investigate the issue accordingly.

The item "continue booting" boots into the 2nd boot device specified in the BIOS, please check the appropriate settings. If you set your hard disk with the operating system as the 2nd boot device, you will boot into Windows.

Thank you.

Hi Oleg,

I'm not quite sure what to do with that information. Also, as I mentioned, if I choose option "c - continue booting", then Acronis UEFI loader runs successfully and takes me to a second menu that lets me run the recovery environment.

No, that's not correct. I've set the 2nd boot device to my internal HDD. Choosing "c - continue booting" still leads to the CD-based Acronis UEFI loader running successfully, after which I can use the CD-based recovery environment.

Thanks.

Bob

Here's an additional piece of information. I tried the different options a couple more times. Consistently, options 1 and 2 hung, while "c - continue booting", resulted in the UEFI loader (and then the recovery environment) loading successfully.

One of the times I tried option 1, immediately before the program hung, it gave the following message: "BUG: Unable to handle kernal paging request at 00000000c736b288".

Oleg or other Acronis Rep: Please make sure to read and respond to my previous message.

Thanks.

Bob
