DriveCleaner and RAID 0 Array

Thread needs solution

Hello,

If I create a RAID 0 array, can I clean 2 drives at the same time?

Cheers,

Greetings,
The drives will not be cleaned individually in this case. In RAID0 data is interleaved in chunks between the two disk. If you are going to keep the drives for your own use, I would leave the array intact and run a clean on the con-joined disks.

If you plan to get rid of the drives and privacy is a concern, I would break the array and clean each disk individually making up to three passes. After a block had been written to several times, any data which existed previously is gone.
