VMP7 - Upgrade from 5144 to 5155

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I've a big problem...

I would like to do the upgrade of the version to have the last functionality (Exchange Agent, and backup of power off VMs).

But when I launch the installer and I configure the parameters of my vCenter, the installer don't propose me to do an upgrade but only to do a fresh deploy.

I contact the support for the same problem to do the upgrade from VMP6 to VMP7 but without success.

Somebody has the same problem and solved it ?

Thx for your help because I have already recreate all my jobs from VMP6 to VMP7 but i don't will to do the same for the update of VMP7.

I originally had this problem and Acronis came up with a fix for me. Do this:

In order to fix the issue, please do the following actions:

1. Open vSphere client and establish a connection to an ESX(i) host or vCenter; 2. Navigate to the existing Virtual Appliance and open the Summary tab; 3. Choose Edit Annotations; 4. Specify a random GUID in the Notes pane (e.g. {AB53A0F1-AD54-480f-80BB-FC72DC41DF53}) and hit OK:
5. Now you will be able to update this Virtual Appliance using Acronis vmProtect installer.

Also if it still will not upgrade try from another computer and it will work.

Hi Stefan, were you able to push trough and follow the steps in that document? How did this go for you if I may ask?
