corrupted backup message, help

Thread needs solution

I am by no means a power user so please keep that in mind.

I do full backups of my hard drive when I back up. Now each backup I do with a validation comes back with the message backup corrupted.

Am I doing something wrong?

What do I need to do in order to get a good backup?

Thanks,
Steven

Greetings Ziggy,
There are several possible causes for this message. Here are some suggestions:

Run chkdsk [volume]:/r at a command prompt. Note, substitute your drive letter for "volume" no [] brackets. Run the backup and validation task again. (note results)

Disable validation on the task and run the back up them validation seperately (different results?)

Error message could be a result of the media you are backing up to. Images might in fact be fine, but you should verify by performing a "mock" recovery using bootable media, or file level restore to confirm the images you are creating are in fact good.

Check your logs for additional information about the error you are receiving.
