E-Mail Backup stuck
Hello,
Sorry I'm new to this.
I have Acronis True Image Home 2012 installed on an XP SP3 machine.
I've performed the initial full disk backup successfully and other subsequent incremental backups for family My Documents.
However, the E-Mail Backup is not working and i can't work out why.
I have Outlook 2003 SP3 and have configured the backup with "Microsoft Office Outlook" and "Windows Address Book" ticked.
When it runs, the status bar gets to about half way and then stops with estimated time stuck around 1 hr 12 mins...and that's how it stays. I've left it for 6-8 hours, but it doesn't move.
Any ideas or help would be really appreciated because I have no idea how to fix this and I really want to backup my emails.
Thanks.

Hi.
I've checked and there are two profiles, one called "Outlook" and the other called "Adam" with "Always use this profile" checked for "Adam".
Not sure what all this means as I didn't set the PC up. What are the profiles and what would happen if I removed the "Outlook" profile - would that screw something up?
Thanks.

Delete the outlook profile. Nothing serious happens if you delete the wrong profile. You will have to reset your email account settings.

I have the same problem w/Windows 7 and Outlook 2003. Everything works fine except email backup freezes halfway thru.
Only 1 user profile set up in Outlook.
Any ideas?
Thx

Did you enter the user credentials when you created the email backup?
When I had one profile but didn't enter user credentials the backup still got stuck. But when I entered the user credentials, it worked.

Hi Crawfy, Thx for the post but what user credentials and exactly where do I find the spot to enter them?
Thx

Hi Crawfy, I found the credentials location but it still sticks in the same spot. I will say Acronis is NOT intuitive to use but I'll muddle thru.
If anyone has an idea of why it still won't back up email, please let me know.
Thx

Hi Tom,
Sorry not to get back sooner.
All I can suggest trying is to delete the original backup request and set it up from the start with the user credentials.
I'm clutching at straws though, because that's what I did and it fixed the problem.
Maybe it only works with XP and not W7?
Good luck.

Hi Crawfy,
Again, thanks for the reply. I actually have 2 computers w/Acronis and your note about credentials fixed my wife's computer but not mine. We actually have identical computers so that if mine went down I could steal hers. I work from home with mine and it's a necessity for me.
The backup of email is more important for her so things are working out ok now that she has email backup. I'm just going to clone my hard drive every month and that should be good enough for me now that Deb's computer is working w/nonstop backup for email.
Thanks again,
Tom

I have the same problem but need guidance as to where to find the user credentials and the profiles you are discussing.
