Install update into diiferent partition

Thread needs solution

When using the update file Acronis True Image Home 2012 Build 6154 obtained form the download user site it uninstalls the older version from my "F" partition and re-installs the newer version into the Root (C:) partition. It does not give me a choice of which partition I wish to install it in as did the original install file! How can I update my ATIH 2012 into my "F:" partition?

If possible, use one of your backups and restore C to what it was prior to the mixup.

Then, don't use the automatic update. Visit your personal download page and download the latest update and then do a manual install.
If you are not offered a choice as to where to install, then cancel and come back to the forum for official help from Acronis.

Perhaps, I wasn't clear but after I used my open ATIH 2012 to check for new updates and it found none I then went to the personal download page and did download the latest update (newer than my currently installed version). That manual install removed my current version of ACTH and reinstalled the latest update into the Root (C:) drive without offering me a chance of what partition I wished to install it into! I then did restore my root partition and my F: partition using a backup image so that now I am back to where I was originally. The question is why wouldn't the manually downoaded update give me a choice of where to install ACTH as did the original disc?

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your messages and thank you for helping Grover.

Toad, we are very sorry that you faced this issue which is caused by an issue in our product. We have created a task for our Development team and I will update the thread once this issue has been resolved.

Unfortunately there is no workaround at the moment, the latest build will not allow you to install the program to a custom directory.

Please let us know if you need additional help.

Thank you.
