Acronis suddenlty reboots, when restoring to a system with RAID
Hello
I have tried to restore a PC from the ISOLINUX Rescure Media build 11133, wich i downloaded from the acronis website. But near the end of the restore, the PC reboots. I have tried different backups and different hardware to restore onto (i used the Universal Restore option when the hardware was'nt the same). When i use an IDE disk directly connected to the mother board, the restore always works. But when i try to restore to a system with a RAID controller, the restore never completes, because of a sudden reboot/crash. I've allso tried to build my own bootable media, and adding the RAID drivers, with no success. The RAID controllers i've tried to restore onto has been a Promise FastTrack TX4310, and an Adaptec SA-1210, both setup as a simple mirror configuration.
We are testing if Acronis can replace our Symantec Backup Exec solution, beacuse Acronis have better scheduling support. But if it is unable to do a simple restore to a RAID array, then its a no-go. But i cant imagine that Acronis B&R can't do this, its basic!, so i must do something wrong...?!?
Any suggestions?
Best Regards
Michael Jensen

I have some additional informatione...
I have now build a BartPE CD with Acronis plugin. When i boot into the BartPE environment, i map a network drive, to where my backups are located. But in Acronis i cant browse the network drive, when i want to find the backup to restore. I can se the drive-letter, but the content is empty...? In the rest of the BartPE environment, there is no problems browsing the mapped network drive...
About the problem with restoring to the RAID... now that i couldnt get access to a network drive in Acronis, i copied the backup file to a local partition and tried to restore from there. But the restore fails midway through. The PC doesn't crash/reboot, as it did on the Acronis Restore Media, so i was able to get a copy of the log. I have attached the log.xml file, and hopefully you can use it the find the bug or what it is that is keeping med from sucessfully restoring our PCs.
Best regards
Michael

Hello Michael,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]
Since you are able to restore the archive to a single hard drive, I have a quick solution for you. You can recover the archive to a single hard drive and after that you can configure the mirrored RAID array without loosing your data and OS. This is possible technically, you can use Google Search to find the respective guide.
The encountered issue with the recovery to the configured RAID requires a further troubleshooting, please let us know if you want to continue the investigation.
Thank you.

This should be a easy and simple operation but it seems it's failing a lot of people.
Please advise why it's failing and if there's anything else we could try or it's a BUG?
There is no way we are implementing this since it's just plain not working!!!

Hello Ivan,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]
Actually, this recovery with Acronis Universal Restore is rather simple operation (the basic principles are available here). Nevertheless, more than a half of the entire amount of requests are related to the improper usage of the program.
The main problem is that we can't monitor the actions step-by-step during the recovery, we can see the results only. The troubleshooting requires several diagnostic files. These files can point us to the exact reason of the recovery malfunction.
I will take care of the thread you have mentioned.
Thank you.
