ATI 2011--can't reinstall

Thread needs solution

I have tried to reinstall ATI 2011 on my system (Win 7 64-bit). Apparently the original installation got corrupted, because each time I tried to run a backup, I got an error message that it could not deploy the task or some such. I could not use normal control panel uninstall routine as it gave another error message, something like missing or corrupt installation files. So I tried to manually delete all Acronis files and cleaned up all registry keys using CCleaner. Could find no traces of ATI on the computer. Went to START-RUN-%TEMP% and deleted all possible files. I also went into Device Manager and uninstalled the Acronis device there. I also downloaded and ran the Acronis cleanup utility and followed all the instructions to check the registry and then reboot. When I attempt to install ATI, I get an error message that ATI is installed and the installation fails. If I click on the view log option, I get dumped back to the installation screen. What is the problem here? Any suggestions? Shouldn't be this difficult to install software . . .

another option to try would be to download and install the free Revo Uninstaller.
I have used it and it works when other things won't.

One option you may have to try would be to use one of your prior backups and restore your system back to when it was properly working and then try the Revo Uninstaller and use the advanced mode. I liked the program so well, I bought the pro model.

after running the cleaner or Revo, manually delete the Acronis directories under Programs, Program Data, Common Files, etc.,

Delete your temporary files, reboot and see if you can install.

Note when using Revo, you can use it to manually find all the stuff it thinks belongs to the ATI program but go over the is and uncheck anything you're not sure about.

Well, the drama continues . . . installed and ran Revo. Not surprisingly, it didn't see ATI 2011 on my system, so no help there. Re-ran the TIH cleanup utility, scrubbed registry with CCleaner and JV16, then went in and manually deleted every remaining registry key that said "Acronis." (There were dozens, which speaks to how poorly designed ATI AND the cleanup utility are . . .) Rebooted and tried to run the install again. Failed again, but with different error messages. JPG of the error message and a text file of the log (it let me see it this time) are attached. Any thoughts?

Again, it should NOT be this difficult to do a simple reinstall . . . and Acronis' product support is pathetic.

Thanks to the folks on the forum who are trying to pick up Acronis' slack!

Try running the install program as Admiminstrator.

One the Revo is started, program should have given you a search option to search for "Acronis".

Tried running Revo as Admin. No Acronis shown in main window, as before. Searched for "Acronis" in small search window at top. Nothing found. Searched registry for "Acronis" and "TIH." Nothing found. Searched hard drive for same. Nothing found. As far as I can tell, there is NO trace of ATI 2011 on this computer. Yet it still won't install.

Does anyone from Acronis monitor these forums? They should help their customers more than this. I'm ready to find another backup solution and never buy another Acronis product again.
