CHANGING WIN7 SYSTEM HDD
I have two Hard Drives installed on my PC and wish to move the Win7 OS from one drive to the other. The original system drive would then be used for other data storage purposes. I have Acronis DD11 installed. I had in mind doing the following using a DD11 bootable CD:
1. Shift all required files from the intended target HD to temporary storage on a USB back-up drive I have.
Maybe reformat target drive?
2. Clone this target drive to present system (source) HD that has C:partition on it. Select ""leave NT signature" option to allow source drive to be still used on the PC (if I understand this option correctly).
The target drive is larger than the source drive ie there are no capacity issues.
3. Change partition letter on the original source drive to avoid having two C: partitions.
4. Change BIOS HD boot-up priority list to point at target drive.
Having never done this before would appreciate confirmation of this procedure or any changes required.
