Hanging - No Response

Thread needs solution

I just purchased Acronis Home 2012. Installed and updated the install to have latest. Windows XP. Product will start and get main screen but once you click inside , it just hangs. Help?!

This could be your issue. I would do the registry edit if you are comfortable with the edits. TrueImage should not be running while doing any of these changes.

If you have no plans for the non-stop backup or the Sync between computers, you can also consider making changes to the services.

Open the services module
The Acronis Non-stop backup service-- Stop the service and change the properties to Manual start.

The Sync Agent service-- Stop the service and change the properties to Manual start.

After all the above, restart Acronis and see if any improvement.
Most likely, you will also already have a bunch of tasks you need to remove from the list. The link also shows where the setting for task removal is.
