Test Recovery from Disk Backup Fails with Boot Media

Thread needs solution

Hi -
I am performaing a Disk backup to an external USB drive, the full backup and incrementals are working fine. If I attemp to run a restore while the computer is up and running, I can point it to the backup and it prompts me to do a restore.
I created a USB boot media.
I boot from the USB drive and then point to the same backup files and I get this error:
Acronis True Image cannot detect volume 6 of HP ( C ) archive

I am just trying to make sure I can do a restore before I go ahead and purchase the product.

thanks

i am running Windows 7 and Update 2 build 7119

When ATI is asking for the volume 6, it is looking for the 5th incremental backup (volume 1 is the full). Choose the browse backup button, navigate to the 6th backup file.
Alternatively, cancel. In the main UI, choose browse for backup, select the backup you want to restore, right click on it, choose restore.
If that fails again, choose validate instead of restore.
If validate fails, your backup chain is compromised. You will have to restore an earlier version, you might have to go all the way to last full and it might not work (if the full is the one that is compromised).
