Acronis WinPE ISO Builder

Thread needs solution

I have XP on a laptop and I would like to create an ISO image of the disk so I can run the laptop programs on Windows 7 Ultimate. Has anyone done this? Do I simply create an ISO image of the disk on the laptop or are there instructions for this? I can't find any instructions. Perhaps there is another product that would work better if someone knows.

Thanks

If you want to move your XP programs to Window 7, you will have to reinstall your applications. No software can move XP apps to Win7.
You could take your XP image and use a virtual machine hosted by Win7, but it is running XP, not Win7.

Pat - thank you. I was wondering if the Acronis WinPE ISO builder would somehow be used to do this? Would I create an ISO of XP on the laptop then run it in a virtual environment under windows 7?

Thanks

You could use VMWare converter to convert your laptop to a virtual machine and use that in WMPlayer to run the virtual machine on Win7.
The WinPE ISO builder just build an image to run ATI, not a backup, in a WinPE environment for backup, cloning or restore purposes
