Create a bootable install image?

Thread needs solution

Hi all, I have been using Acronis True image for a while now and generally tend to use a bootable disk with my image located on an external USB drive. Whilst there is no problem with this I have often wondered if it was possible to create a self loading image that could be burnt directly to a DVD.

Does anyone know it this is possible and how to go about producing such a disk if it is?

Thanks

If by 'self loading' you mean the ability to burn an image to a bootable DVD, TIH 2011 has an option in the Disk and Partition backup dialog just under the destination field: "Make this media bootable". Not sure about 2012, but I'm betting it has a similar option.

As MH says, this is possiible.

FYI, even if you don't combine bootable Recovery Media with .tib backup archive, you don't need to have each on a separate drive. You can boot from the bootable Recovery Media (either CD-R or USB flash drive), then remove it in order to access the .tib backup archive on the same optical drive or USB port. The bootable Recovery Media loads into RAM, so can be removed once that has completed.
