Recover from incremental Backup doesn't find the last Backup file
Hi
I have a incremental Backup made with Acronis Tru Image Home 2012 with the following files:
Backupname.tib (16.03.2012)
Backupname1.tib (17.03.2012)
Backupname2.tib (18.03.2012)
.
.
.
Backupname95.tib (from 4.7.2012)
I will recover the files from the last Backup (Backupname95.tib). When I start Recovery in ATIH 2012 I see the overview where my Backup is shown with 169 (???) versions (last from 4.7.2012).
I select this backup and get a new Window with a Kalender at the bottom with all the days when I made an incremental backup.
But this timeline stopp at the 8.6.2012. So I cant recover my backups after this date. The File from this date is Backupname74.tib. So 21 Backups are missing.
Any help?
regards
Holger

Holger,
First of all, you are using a dangerous backup method. You have way too many incrementals. If any incremental file becomes corrupted, all the following incrementals will be completely useless. The rule of thumb is that you should do a new full from now and then so that the last full is never too old for you to go back to if you really had to. If you need to, backup frequently changing content through some other mechanism. The best backup method is explained by Grover here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705
Second, to your problem:
To start with, double click on the TIB file you want the files from. If it opens normally, browse that to find the files you want to recover. If ATI complains, things are getting dicy. In this case, you will first have to run a validation of that archive: right click on it, choose "archive" -> recover. If this doesn't work either, choose "validate". IF the validation works out well, at least your backup chain is not corrupted. You can then try to recover using ATI (the validation should put back the files and versions in ATI), or using the recovery CD. If the validation fails, I am afraid you are out luck.
