Network scheduled backup always fails to work after failed event

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis True Image Home for years and one thing that has always anoyed me is the following...

I have various backups sechduled to run during the week to my NAS device over the network. These are all Full backups with my network credentials stored and set to keep the last 2 recent only.

When I set up a backup it runs perfectly... this is until the scheduled backup runs when I am away from my network and therefore the NAS box is unavailable. This causes an error, as you would expect, but then when connected back to the network the backup will not run with error Failed to prepare data stream. Check whether the source and target partitions exist. reported in the Log.

Every time this happens I have to remove and recreate the backup task!

Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Hello Simon,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Forum.

Hopefully the following article from our Knowledge Base will be of assistance for you. Most likely this issue occurs because the NAS in unavailable. If the article does not resolve the problem, please contact our Support team with the following report.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks for the link, but thats not the issue. I can understand it not working while the NAS device is unavalable.... my issue is that it will not work when the NAS device is reconnected.

I would love to ask support, but the web site says I have to pay for support... which is a bit rich when the program is not working.

Looks like i'm on my own then :(
